2013 comes to a close: it's been a good one folks

So let's just say summer was the BOMB. One of  my favorite summers- filled with babysitting, parker getting home, lake powell and just a good solid 4 months off of school. Longest summer break of my life. This pic here sums up my summer- I went out with a bang crowd surfing at a concert down in SLC with Parker. We had such a fun summer! So happy to have him home. And now for fall 2013 semester- BY FAR my favorite semester at BYU. Between having Parker home, rooming with Audrey, finally getting the swing of college life and meeting Scott Holmes, it was a party. So grateful for the blessings in my life this semester. So here's a wrap up post (classic shelby post) of Fall 2013.

Swiss days with the Fowlers! Aud and I became SO close this semester. Cannot believe she is leaving me in a month to go to Mexico--- rough stuff peeps. Not the first time my roommate has left me haha.

Aud and I matching our first day of Church. Walmart Skirts allll the way

We moved down to Provo the weekend before school and then joined mom and dad up in Lava Hot Springs for a last HOOORAH before school started on Tuesday after Labor Day. We had such a good time- ran the river, played games, (yes I got a Yatzhee- see below:)), and chilled in the Hot Springs. Parker confirmed he will go on his honey moon there--- hahah JK!

During the first few weeks of school, one of my old friends named Kaitlin from Freshmen year came to visit and say goodbye as she left on a mission this past semester. So grateful for her friendship last year and her example of serving a mission despite very difficult family circumstances. Love her.

That weekend, Kaitlin also came with my roommates and me to a MGMT concert in SLC. It was so much fun, but it was NUTS. We were filthy by the end!

Jaden and I spent the last part of the concert way up front and just got owned. Yes, those shoes of mine used to be white.

Throughout this post I have random pictures of classic things this semester. This for instance is a burrito truck that Audrey and I stumbled upon and it changed our lives. Hahahah we love it! SWEEEEEETO.

Came up from Provo for John A's surprise birthday party! What cute kiddos. Love any chance I get to come home and spend time with them. I miss living with them!

A little roommate braid matching. My one roommate Kylie is a pro braider which is super fun!

Laser Tagging with some wardies. Pretty intense.

Jane's Farewell. Hahah gotta love the awkward pic. Sums up all of us perfectly. We spotted this random wagon outside the church and decided it was fate. I miss Jane so much. She is serving in Quetzaltenango Guatemala.

Saying goodbye to your best friends is never easy. Seems I've been doing this a lot lately. But they always come back, and I've met lots of great people this year to say helllllooo to! Haha

So my new sport/hobby/activity is rock climbing! Parker and his roommates got Aud and I hooked. We got our own passes and went a couple of times a week. It's way nice cause we can take one friend for free on Friday. My very first Friday I invited Scott Holmes (my bf  now hahah) and I actually haven't taken anyone else since! We have a lot of fun!

I've continued Dance classes at BYU and have decided to minor in dance! I'm really excited about it and I love the friends I dance with. It was so fun to dance this semester again with an old Mandonelle friend- Aubree Monson. We took this lovely pic one day that we were matching. Love the cheesy matching picture.

Getting Slurpees with our friend we call "Slurps" haha he is one of Scott's roommates. This was taken after we went to an "Ipod Dance Party" - pretty much everyone downloads the same playlist and dances to it on their own Ipod. So hilarious. That was a fun adventure.

Cheering on our cougs.

Our room: We love it. I'm going to be lonely this next semester without Aud!!

Our "Mega Bed" is the best. Lots of good late night chats.

Roommate Bowling. So left to right: Audrey, Jaden, Charlee, Meg, and I. Kylie is missing from the pic. We all got along so well. It was such a blessing. LOVE THEM ALL.

Jane came to sleepover one night before she left. We took this cheesy BFF pic. As you can see our eyes are pretty swollen. Miss her so much.

You can't keep Park and I away from classic skating for too long. What is provo without a good ole disco skating night? We went with a big ole group- my roommates, parker's roommates, and some peeps from our ward. Way fun!

Let me just say, one of my favorite things about this semester was taking two classes with Parker- Humanities and D&C from JB. This pic is hiliarous as Park was rocking this classy outfit- just check out the sunday shoes and with the white socks. Classic Park.

Our Humanities teacher. Sorry for the screen shot haha.

And the 4 cousins with our other cousin JB. Such a fun time.

Conference weekend up in Kaysville! WE LOVE THE TANDEM BIKE.

Catching the ducks at the duck pond. Rejected for the kiss.

Parker's convert Maria Santos came down for conf and we got to go to one of the sessions. Super awesome!

Homecoming week! Hiking the Y to light it!

True Blue foam slide. Aud loves being the 5th wheel or the spare tire as she would say!

Such a fun date 4 wheeling and building a fire up in the mountains. Our favorite date!

Jazz game with a bunch of friends! My roommate meg had a bunch of tickets through her Dad's work so she hooked us up!

Passion Pit concert. BEST THING OF MY LIFE!

Matching to the temple. Love the provo temple!

Bringing Scott to meet the fam. Mom made this hilarious heart shaped cheesecake! The girls loved Scott!

We really enjoy ice cream parties in our apartment. We call them pint parties haha.

Them cougs!

So here's a classic college post. It's been so fun to have Parker and his roommates so close by. So on Sundays and Wednesday nights we have joint apartment dinners. One night Ryan and Parker supplied Pizza and brought out some TP cause they didn't have napkins. It was hilarious.

Visiting Grandpa Ben! Parker forgot his swimsuit to go up to Flowrider so he borrowed one of Gramps' old swimsuits. It was classic.

Cute date night to a dessert cafe!

Scott's 22nd Birthday! I decorated his room for him :)

That night we went to a trampoline gym with all our friends!

Birthday Date up at the Cheesecake Factory. I also took Scott up to Ensign Peak and the Capitol building! Suuuuper pretty.

Happy Halloween from the Hipsters! We dressed up like this for his brother and sister in laws halloween party! Such a blast.

Aud and I came up with this ingenious idea to be the old Miley Cyrus and the new (scary) Miley Cyrus haha.We thought we were super clever.

Fun to have Hannah and Bri come visit for a weekend! We went to a BYU basketball game and a comedy show (comedy sports- actually the place of Scott and I's first date!)

Park City date night! Scott and I hosted a bunch of couples up at a condo his family rented. We had a big minute to win it competition!

Another weekend with Chandler, Bri, and Lindsey. We went to a BYU bball game and nickel city! We were hitting the jack pot!

Weekend before Thanksgiving- Classic Skating, In N' Out burger and a private friends premiere of Catching Fire. Meg hooked us up again with her family's movie theater!

Visiting Gabby Fowler's Classroom! Helped the kids make some Turkey Hats!

Playing up in Mickies toyroom- these kids love Granny's new house! Some hilarious moments playing Doctor.

Feeding the ducks again!

Thanksgiving break was a blast! In one day we played tennis and went bowling!

I love going running up at Mickies next to the ponds! So pretty!

Time for the festivities of December. Aud and I made this graham cracker nativity at FHE. So creative.

Hilarious moment with Parker walking on Campus and I slipped on Ice. I could not stop laughing. It was the worst because I spilled all this free hot chocolate we had just gotten. And it was the BEST hot cocoa EVER. so mad.

So Scott and I made a December bucketlist with all the fun holiday activities we wanted to do. I have pictures from most of them. Yes, thanks to my OCD we finished every single thing on the list!
Gingerbread houses!

Supporting Scott at Bowling League. He literally played about every intramural sport possible this semester along with bowling league. I got a t-shirt along with the other girlfriends with his bowling name on the back! So funny. He had the 4th highest average in the league even!

Temple Square!

Hitting up the pie after temple square!

Decorating Christmas cookies. Sometimes my roommates would join us :)

Drinking eggnog- even though both of us never really liked it.

Getting all festive for our friend white elephant gift exchange and christmas party. Cindy Lou Who is coming to town!

Building a snowman. We got a little creative with these one. It's like having a jack-o-lantern out on your porch. We put it outside my apartment door and it lasted for days in the pan because it was so cold! We named her fifi! ha

Ice Skating. Scott tricked me into thinking he couldn't ice skate so I was all tying up his skates and helping him and then he just took off and left me in the dust. He thought it was so funny.

Sledding!

Friend Gift Exchange! Last year there was 10 of us and this year only 5 remained. We got all festive for the occasion as usual. Great way to start the school break. Me, Ali, Jayne, Bri and Hannah.

The first weekend of the break I babysat these cute kids overnight while Ray and John went on a little anniversary overnighter. We built this fun snowman named Snowflake!!
Having the Marsdini's here for Christmas was the best. Brought the magic back into Christmas!

Classic Christmas Eve Skiing!

 Christmas Adam!

Riss Char and I made this cute Santa's Cottage.

Goodies for Santa and Veggies for the Reindeer.

Christmas Eve Night!

And Santa always takes a break at 3am to go sledding with us- hahah! It was so hilarious. Seriously one of the best times we have ever had on the metal bowl. Closest thing we have gotten to Clark Griswald.

Parker had some serious battle wounds from 3am sledding.

 Christmas Morning!!

Makeovers with Rissa! She's crazy!

Classic stair pic. Just the two of us!

Hilarious moment when Violet was pushing Desi in this little cart!

Sledding! These kids loved it!

We miss these New Yorker's!! SO fun to have them in town!

And on New Year's Eve, Parker and I had some friends over to play games and bring in the New Year! Cheers to 2014 :):) It's been a great year and I'm excited to see what 2014 has in store for me. Above all, looking back at this past year, I am so grateful for all the things I have learned- even for my trials that have made me a better person and have made me more grateful for what I have and for life in general. So grateful for this holiday season and my savior. I'm ready for 2014 babyyyyyy
