The theme was "What My Mother Taught Me..." It was my theme idea.. well John A gave me a little help haha! But it came together so perfectly for mother's day and all! I dedicated it to this AMAZING woman right here. I was so lucky to be able to choreograph and dance and dance a solo. My titles were: "My mother taught me to live in the moment" and "My mother taught me to face my fears." Happy Mother's Day mom! I LOVE YOU!
Me and Choo Choo- my biggest fan :)

Mom was in DC the last night when all the moms gave us flowers so Ray stepped in as my mom:) She really has become like another mom to me while she's been living her! I love her so much and she has supported me every step of the way through drill. And she is always there to take pictures and film dances for me. I love you ray! You are the best :)

Washington DC!!

Well now that my life has slowed down with dance and ap tests over, I can update my blog! First I want to post about the Choir Trip to D.C. I went on over Spring Break. It was INCREDIBLE. So fun and so memorable! I LOVED DC!!

Me, Bri and Jane at the Airport!
Ready for take off!

We took off at about 10 AM on monday morning and arrived in DC around 6 Eastern time. After a  quick din din we headed straight for the goods. We went and sang at and saw some awesome memorials. It was awesome to see them at night all lit up and stuff! I also loved singing at so many different sights! Such a cool opportunity!

The Washington Monument was closed for earthquake reconstruction, but we saw it from the other Memorials and several times driving through
A group of us at the Soldier Memorial. There was this awesome wall that had TONS of names of all the soldiers!

Abe the good man himself!

 Jefferson Memorial

We rode on a bus EVERYWHERE. I felt like we were on that bus more than anywhere else. Hahaha someone got this nice shot of me and jane asleep. The bus rides were good for napping :)
Tuesday Morning we went to Arlington Cemetery.
Camrie, Jane, Me, and Kate

Watching the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier. This was one of my favorite things!

Amphitheater at Arlington Cemetery that we sang at! It was so incredible. We were so lucky to get permission to sing there. Singing such powerful and patriotic songs and thinking of all the soldiers who have fought and died for this country was very overwhelming and humbling.

Sunglasses! It was very nice weather. Was a great spring break while it was snowing back in Utah :)
The famous Cherry Blossoms! The Cemetary was beautiful!
 JFK's grave.
There were so many headstones. It was CRAZY,

This was my favorite statue  of the whole trip.

Later that day we went to a baseball game- Red Sox v. the Washignton Nationals.

Eating Dip n' Dots- only the best! The game was a blast!
That night we went to Alexandria. Jane has an aunt that lives out there and so she took us to this way sweet dock.
Apparently this is the smallest "house" in America and it sold for millions of dollars!
My amazing apple eating skills. I took one bit and it just happened to form the shape of a heart! It was hilarious! I was just about ready to take another bite when Bri stopped me and made me look at the heart. Hahah
On Wednesday we went to the Hart Senate Building. We sang in the main foyer area and it was awesome to look up and see people on every floor looking over the ledges listening to us!
Then we got a nice tour of the capitol building. It was legit with head sets and everything!
The inside of the Capitol rotunda was beeeeeeeautiful.
Our boy Brigham Young representing us in the Capitol!
Outside the Capitol!

After we toured the Capitol, we went up the Mt. Vernon. It was one of the highlights of the week because I got to see SHAE!! Wow it felt so good to be reunited! When I first saw them it was so cute! Em just booked it full speed to me and gave me the biggest hug while little prego shae bobs was jogging up the hill pushing lukie in the stroller! We just hugged and cried. I've missed my second mommy:) We wear able to quickly tour George Washington's house and then she got to hear us sing. Good ole Larry was being a slacker about the whole situation haha but it was well worth spending time with shae.
Love my lukie bendo!
 She is the cutest!

Wednesday Night we got to sing the National Anthem at the Wizards NBA bball game.
John.
Wall.
hahah John Wall is a player on the team and he does this dance arm flex thing. Me and jane were just trying it out! Anyway, it was super fun to sing for it! The players were HUGE on the court!

Thursday morning we went to the National Cathedral. It was BEAUTIFUL.
We were lucky enough to get to sing there! It was so cool. The stained glass inside was amazing.

Me outside of the White House. Right next to the White House was St. John's church where we sang for an Easter Mass Ceremony.

St. John's Church

Art Museum

Thrusday we also visited some museums and the National Archives. We got to see the original Constitution and Bill of Rights. It was like Ap American History and Ap Government came to life! Hahah

That evening we went to the Ford's Theater Museum and play 1776. The museum was so cool all about Lincoln and his assassination at the Theater. Here is the box where he was shot.

Dinner! Camrie, me, Jane, and Kate

Friday morning we went up the DC temple. Here is a big group of us!

Camrie, Bri, Me, Jane and Kate :) Best Friends! We had such a fun trip together! We joked that we could've taken one picture of the five of us and photoshopped it into pictures of every site! Hahaha

Me and Jane

Hahah some of our guy friends. Not sure why we chose to take this "tool time" picture in front of the temple. Good times...

After taking pictures outside of the temple, we had a choir workshop. Here is our good brother who helped us out.. this picture cracks me up because kate looks tiny and I look about 10349234923 times bigger than her!!

Friday night we performed at the Temple Visitors Center! They even had a poster with our picture to announce us!

So beautiful! I was sad I couldn't actually go but I hope I can go sometime this summer!

Inbetween the workshop and the actual performance that night, we had free time to go to some museums. We went to the American History one. We went through the coolest exhibit with the first American flag! It was really really awesome.

Then we went to the Holocaust Museum. Wow it was so amazing. It was so emotional and so overwhelming but very interesting. Im so grateful I was able to go to it. Made me feel VERY grateful for all that I have!

Shae and Jon were able to come to the performance at the Visitor's Center! I was so happy to spend some more time with them!

After the performance I got to go out to eat with Shae and Jon at the Cheesecake Factory. We went with some of Shae's friends family (Jenn Beck). It was such yummy!
My feathie fam! LOVE THEM. It was such a highlight to see them! I can't wait to go back and help them out with the new baby this summer!

Saturday morning before we headed to the airport we went to the White House! We sang the National Anthem there too! Wow can you say the best place to sing the National Anthem? It was very patriotic.

Here is a picture of most of our guy friends on the trip!

The girls!

Hahaha the last thing we did before we boarded the plane was this simulator! We got some more Smithsonian Museum free time and we found this hilarious 3D ocean simulator!
Jane working at a popcorn stand :)

Our last picture of the trip! Getting ready to board our "gunther" bus for the last time! We were very ready to go home! It was the best trip! I absolutely loved it! But it was also so exhausting as we packed in about everything possible to do in DC! I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I had the best roommates :) It was a blast! Thank you Mom and Dad for the best senior trip!
